  About Us

Having retired from the IT business after 30 years and the sale of a business,  owner Adrian Foster started a new business with the name of fitness and leisure because they were things he enjoyed.

He tried a number of different approaches.  He wanted a business he could work on, as much as in.  He wanted something easy to operate, and something that stood out from the norm of the every-week's-a-sale and treadmills-for-hire shop-style business.

After a while, he - let's change that to we - found it.  What seemed to work best for him a focus on outstanding strength-building equipment.  Equipment that does the right exercises, rather than the ones that are cheap to make equipment for.  Its innovative design helps users execute their strength-building more effectively, safely, and more enjoyably.   And today, maintaining and developing strength is even more neglected than general exercise itself. And what surprises many people is that, done certain ways, it offers some of the best opportunities for cardiovascular fitness at the same time, and helps address some of the west's biggest public health cost and quality-of-life challenges.

We looked hard and travelled far to find our innovative, and robust products.  They typically come from US -controlled family companies (rather than conglomerates) who are leaders in their fields.  Family companies tend to stick with things.  Conglomerates in the recreation field tend to constantly shuffle assets and buy and sell companies.  They forget what the business is about.

Our products are designed and built so that little can go wrong.  They're strong.  They often do more than other supposedly similar products, and are nicer to use than cheaper products.  The exercises they help you perform, and muscle groups they target, are the biggest and most important.  Many home gyms ignore them, because they're expensive to design and make for.

We don't have shops.  We know you may want to see and try products before buying, so we have excellent demo space that you can call on by making an appointment.  (90%+ of our business is done over the internet, without a demo.  We think this reflects a particularly high degree of trust in our website and its content, though we do have a demo facility in Auckland)  Doing business this way means we can offer high-value products at lower-than-otherwise prices.
